NärCon 2014

Just came home from the first convention I've been to in two years. Mixed feelings about it.
The convention in itself was awesome! But much bigger than I had thought. And spread out over a university campus. Having to walk across it in the worst summer heat was a bit tiresome and I didn't envy some of the coaplayers that were wearing heavier outfits. I had revived my old Shuuichi cosplay and also brought my Trafalgar Law. But I stuck with Shuuichi cause the shorts and the short top were rather nice in the heat and easy to change into clean ones every day. ^^ And this time I had dyed my hair instead of wearing a wig. Also nice!

I shared a hotel room with a friend which also upped the experience since we had really good AC in our room and it was nice and comfy in general.

The only thing that was a bit sad was how much I missed the old conventions and all the friends I used to meet up with and all the new friends I would make. Guess I feel like I'm getting old or something. Which is mostly because I have to get back to a job where I'm not so sure my hair color will be appreciated and my preferred clothing most definitely isn't. At university that wasn't a problem. So when the conventions ended they didn't really end in a way. There was a bit more of a finality to the ending of the convention this time.

At least I have a masquerade ball to look forward too soon. I intend to combine my opera interests with cosplay and go as Octavian from Der Rosenkavalier. ^^ I got super inspired by all the AMAZING cosplays! Not only the finalists i NCC (Nordic Cosplay Championship) but just really cool people walking around the convention. Lots of GoT and Frozen. There was a gyu dressed as Rob Stark and as he was walking across the convention site he had aquired an entourage of anime cosplayers in all the colors of the rainbow that had spontaneously started humming the intro tune to GoT around him. ^________^

May. 15th, 2012

Soon. So soon. The waiting is almost over.

I slept a few hours. Just woke up. Took a shower. The skin on one arm has funny patterns from the bedspread I was lying on.

Only a few more minutes to go.

Am I being stupid? Am I being completely ridiculous? Probably. Yes.

Not long now.

I still remember the first time. Still, after all these years. It was amazing!

Only a few more minutes.

Farewell my friends, for a while. I will be off on a long awaited adventure. Feel free to join me.

The clock is ticking.

This is what all those upgrades were for. My dear companion, don’t let me down.

It’s about to start.

The gates are opening.

Now! Now! Now!

I’m off.

Goodbye, Farewell and Amen

Guess I won't be listening to Mozart's Clarinet Quintet for a while....

I couldn’t help but giggle at today’s X-files. There was a ”Crowley High School” and people calling for Azazel. It makes me miss the good old days in Supernatural… ^^

(Anything to not have to study for my exam tomorrow)

Also contemplating running away for a concert tomorrow… problem is it’s in another city and it will be nigh impossible to get home. Have to find someone to stay with. Probably won’t bother… but it would have been fun.

I think I get it now ^^

Very Sherlocky days

I went to see the new Sherlock movie with Kuma last night. And today I finally got around to watching the first episode of the second season of Sherlock.

Johnny’s Countdown!

It’s the first day of the new year and I finally got around to watching last nights Countdown. I probably should waited until my sister came home from Japan. It was quite depressing watching it by myself. We used to watch it the whole family together, and two years ago we watched it (on TV, but still live) in Japan. Still, it’s fun and sparkly so I just can’t stay away. ^^

But I miss my favorite groups actually performing together and there were too many little kids that really aren’t kids anymore. And some that still are which is why Sexy Zone completely freaked me out. Yuck!

Then KAT-TUN showed up and Ueda is a bleach away from looking like Gackt again (he seems to have settled for the haircut this time) which I found hilarious. And I almost mistook Junno for Mabo with that mohawk. They are also both pretty tall so I think I can be forgiven for that. XDDD

I’m not a NEWS-fan but it still seemed a bit sad to see what was left of them. But they still have Tego!! XDDD (I love his high notes)

But then, WTF!?!?! Why isn’t Arashi in Tokyo Dome. T.T I have gotten used to K8 being somewhere else performing, even though I hate it, but now Arashi too!

And then it was 2012 and Koichi’s birthday! <333

The non-stop medley is usually my favorite part, but without Arashi AND Kanjani 8. Also, I hadn’t seen TOKIO or V6 yet either. Booo! At least there was Kinki Kids. And I know that TOKIO always arrives late, so no reason to fret yet really, but still.

The little footage in the corner of Tsubasa trying to get to, I don’t know, I missed that part. Oh well, guess I was going to find out eventually.

I have to say though, Ryo as a girl, with red dots glued to his cheeks, is a vision that will haunt me. As well as the rest of them as vegetables! And then Yoko as a blender!!! XDDDD My poor stomach, I laughed sooo hard.

Wait was that Uchi?! LOL

And then. They arrived. IN BLIMPS!!!! TOKIOOOOOOOOOO!!! And I thought my heart would break when I heard the first chords of Sorafune. I wish my dad could have seen that.

Then there was Ai nanda but still no V6. But just as I thought that they finally showed up! OKADAAAA!!!! <333 I love them all!! But what had happened to Go’s voice I wonder…

Another visit to Kansai Crazyland… I don’t know if to laugh or feel sorry for them. Junno seemed to have fun with Musekinin Hero XDDDD I don’t know why but Believe always breaks my heart whether Arashi or anyone else sings it. Real Face still makes me think of people stuck in traffic having to use the bathroom… (Why? Listen to the beginning of the text). V6 singing Aisareru yori aishitai = <333333 Tsubasa made it! He reached Tackey!! LOOOOL That was totally adorable, and I’m not a T&T fan. ^^ But they played my fav of their songs!! ^_____________^ (Ho! Summer) Their flying seemed a bit out of control though…

Waaaaaaaaaaah! Close up on Higashiyama!! *faint*

Higashiyama and Koichi!! *faints again*

Higashiyama and Koichi and Matchy!! *doesn’t know what to do with all the squeeeeeeeeee*

And with V6, KAT-TUN and NEWS dancing. Now we’re getting to the stuff I like!! <33333

When Tsuyoshi, Nagase and Leader entered with guitars I actually started crying… And Family was beautiful.

Inocchi in traditional clothes, soooo cute!! (toshi otoko with Matchy and one of the kids)

And V6 got some extra members… LOOOOOOL

(commercial break announcing that Gackt will be back on the 3 h special of VS. Arashi, now that I won’t miss!!)

And then it was pretty much over. The number of commercial breaks they cram into the last few minutes of the program is amazing. And in between they just ask what the groups will be up to this year. Although I found Tsuyoshi’s joke about what Kinki Kids would do really funny. XDDDD (キンキラキンにさりげなく行こうかな)

I probably forgot a lot, but oh well.

In the end I still can’t help wishing for Arashi, K8, TOKIO, V6 and the others to all have shared a stage. I love when they start running around singing each other’s songs in new weird constellations. And Nagase should be glomping MatsuJun, or Koichi, or both. And stuff like that.

Happy New Year!

Gott nytt år!!
Almost midnight. Munching away on oliebollen and other New Year-snacks ^^

I hope the new year will bring you all lots of joy and laughs!! <3

Punctuation FTW! ^.~

Yesterday I was out trying to find a birthday present for a friend and ended up in the last big book store in Stockholm. There I suddenly spotted a small book called Komma rätt, komma fel och komma till punkt. Intrigued I picked it up and found out that it was all about punctuation and I decided to buy it. I have not been able to put it down!
The book is based on an English book called Eats, Shoots & Leaves but is completely rewritten and adapted to Swedish. I had never heard of this book and a bit of googling told me that the reactions to the original have been varied and that it has received critique for having plenty of punctuation mistakes, despite being a book that calls to arms against bad punctuation.
My punctuation skills in Swedish are not as good as I would like (and in English they are non-existing), but a lot of the examples she uses are things that have bothered me too. So, until I have finished this, everything else I was reading is gonna have to wait. This is too amusing, interesting and nerdy for me to put down. I absolutely love it!
